Forthcoming work includes a tour of Scottish secondary schools with The Nine Lives of Roddy Hogg and Friends Disunited during the Autumn/Winter term, funded by Road Safety Scotland.

Gold Stars and Dragon Marks, Crush and Cyberspyder are available for touring from September.

This year’s Christmas pantomime, The Curse of Hodmahat’s Gold is available for primary schools in Central Scotland during December and the first week in January after the school holiday.

From January 2012 until May 2012, Baldy Bane will be touring The Journey, a road safety forum theatre production aimed at Primary 6 pupils.

The Company is also developing a new intergenerational play for Road Safety Scotland, which should be ready for a pilot tour in early 2012.

Funding has been agreed to tour Wee Andy by Paddy Cunneen to secondary schools and community venues in West Lothian. This emotive play looks at the implications of knife crime in communities.

Gold Stars and Dragon Marks

Gold Stars and Dragon Marks was commissioned by the National Children and Young People’s Prevention Network. This piece was also developed to fulfil one of the Scottish Government’s priorities of tackling the issue of domestic abuse through education. In order to develop the play as a continuously available resource, money was secured from the Scottish Government to produce the DVD version of Gold Stars and Dragon Marks along with a CD ROM resource pack. Adapted and produced by David Goodall of Soundmove, and directed by Alison Couston of Baldy Bane, this piece look at issues affecting younger children living with domestic abuse in terms of their own behaviour and that of a constantly changing peer group.

Crush

First commissioned as a stage play by the National Children and Young People’s Prevention Network. Due to the stage play’s success, money was secured from the Scottish Government to produce the film version of Crush. Adapted and directed by David Goodall, Crush is a study of abuse and control in teenage relationships.

Gillian and Alex are best friends forever. But how long does that last when Jack enters the picture? When does “care” become control?

A powerful and disturbing story of one girl’s journey to a place of despair and emptiness.
