The move from Primary to Secondary School is one that can have the biggest effect on young people. This play is aimed at pupils in Primary 6, and explores the developing relationships between a group of young friends as they journey through primary school towards secondary school. The people they meet and the places they go all exert different influences on them. Parents and teachers may put up certain restrictions, but peer pressure may encourage a sense of rebellion and lead to behaviour which will put them at risk. The play is split into performance and forum sections, which allow the audience to examine, discuss and re-direct what they have seen.
“The production gave a really good balance of educating and entertaining, making the pupils very aware of correct and safe ways to deal with influences and situations they might encounter. We also felt it 'hit' a variety of CfE Health and Wellbeing Experiences and Outcomes. It was super the way the children were really put in the shoes of the characters and encouraged to contribute and become involved.”
